Current Initiatives

  • Hosted the 4th annual “Career Pathways in Behavioral Health: Explore, Inspire, Connect” career exploration event for college students of Northern Colorado on March 23, 2023. This annual event alternates between the University of Northern Colorado and Colorado State University as hosts.

  • Launching a "Walk the Talk" social media campaign on our FaceBook and LinkedIn pages to highlight best practices and share success stories about ideas to support employee wellness, wellbeing and improve satisfaction in the workplace.

Behavioral health generally refers to mental health and substance use disorders, life stressors and crises, and stress-related physical symptoms. Behavioral health care refers to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of those conditions. 

The Behavioral Health Committee focuses their effort on pathways education, workforce development and community engagement.

2023
  • “Career Pathways in Behavioral Health: Explore, Inspire, Connect” – The fourth annual event was held in person in partnership with Northern Colorado Health Sector Partnership. Sponsored by Larimer County Behavioral Health, North Range Behavioral Health, Summitstone Health Partners, and Northpoint Colorado.

2022
  •  March 2, 2022 - 3rd Annual Career Pathways in Behavioral Health event at UNC University Center

  • Building a video resource library of behavioral health professionals for students in Northern Colorado. Looking to expand to have virtual tours and “Day in the life” interviews at different organizations in Northern Colorado.

  • Education and Industry Forums

    • Forums were held to bring together education and industry partners with a goal to better prepare students for the workforce.

    • The first Forum was held with Colorado State, Front Range Community College and Larimer County Behavioral Health partners on February 24, 2022.

    • The second Forum was held with University of Northern Colorado, Aims Community College and Weld County industry partners on April 13, 2022.

    • Based on feedback from the February and April forums, a third forum was held on August 9, 2022 that brought together all groups to continue to enhance regional collaboration and connections and to build on the ideas generated at the two initial forums to come up with actionable next steps.

      • Priorities emerging from event:

      • Internships

        • Identify and problem solve obstacles regarding paid internships

        • Identify funding streams

        • Length of internships

        • Other experience opportunities

        • Connect with employers to communicate ways to support internships

        • Teaching students the impact of their internships performance on their career

      • Human skills

      • Exploring engagement with K-12 and workforce centers

      • Netiquette

      • Create more formal avenues for mentorships

      • Job shadowing

      • Imbed in all levels of curriculum (K-12, higher ed)

    • Career Pathways

      • Educating and communicating potential career pathways to students

      • Engage K-12 (starting in elementary age)

      • Focus on identifying skills and interests and how translate to a career

  • Initiated a resource library of videos on YouTube for students to better understand a career in behavioral health.

  • “Career Pathways in Behavioral Health: Explore, Inspire Connect”: Partnered with the University of Northern Colorado’s Center for Career Readiness to host an inaugural event to inspire the next generation of behavioral health professionals. Sponsored by the City of Greeley

2018

  • Thanks to the Leadership of the Partnership, Larimer County passed a bond issue to support a state of the art behavioral health center, including residential treatment

2016 - 2018

  • Support local organizations who provide Mental Health First Aid to educate the community on mental health and promote understanding and reduce stigma
